Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan admits he was unaware of exactly how famous Harry Styles was.
The Dark Knight director cast Styles because his audition was “really remarkable” but told Billboard he was then surprised to find out how famous the One Direction star actually was:
“I don’t think I was that aware of how famous Harry was. I mean my daughter had talked about him, my kids talked about him but I wasn’t really aware of it. The truth is I cast Harry because he fit the part wonderfully and truly earned his seat at the table. What he does in the film is really remarkable in its subtleness and truthfulness and I hope people will comes to his performance with an open mind because I think he’s an extraordinarily talented actor.'” said Nolan.

Harry plays the role of a British soldier called Alex in the historical war film and we can see his performance in theaters on July 21st.
