Ciro Guerra Interview – Embrace of the Serpent; director reveals his next movie will be “like a gangster film”

We sat down with Embrace of the Serpent director, Ciro Guerra, to chat about his movie, which was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards.

At the end of the interview, Guerra reveals that his next film shoots in 2017, will be set in La Guajira Desert in the northern edge of Columbia, and hints that it will be “like a gangster film” with an important indigenous element, “but something completely different from any gangster film that you have ever seen…”

Embrace of the Serpent is out today, June 10th, in UK cinemas nationwide.
