Colin Farrell has confirmed he’ll be starring in the second season of HBO’s crime thriller True Detective. Farrell had been rumoured for the role quite a while now, along with fellow thespians Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch. Leaving behind Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s characters from the first season, the show’s creator Nic Pizzolatto returns to pen a new story with brand new characters – but Colin Farrell has yet to confirm if he is playing a lead or supporting role. Other actors vying for the currently open female roles are Jessica Biel and Elisabeth Moss.
