Commissioner Gordon’s Role in Justice League will be “Small”

There’s a been a fair deal of news lately about J.K. Simmons‘ role as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Justice League films. According to Simmons, though, his part in the superhero crossover’s first entry won’t be especially significant.

The Oscar-winning actor recently told DP/30 (as reported by ComingSoon.net), “Honestly, I don’t get started on that until June, and my part in the first one is very small.”

Nevertheless, Simmons added that he’s “excited to be playing that iconic character in that iconic series.”

Plus, seeing how the DC Extended Universe is bound to have numerous more installments, it’s likely that Commissioner Gordon will play a greater role later down the line. Perhaps he’ll be a major player in the standalone Batman movie Ben Affleck is directing?

“I’m going into a thing that hopefully will be two, three, four… maybe more movies for me,” Simmons said.

Justice League: Part One began filming on April 11 and hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
