Cowboy Bebop Director and Flying Lotus are teaming up for Blade Runner anime short

With the release of the highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049 just around the corner, the series of short films have been keeping our appetites wet until then.

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo director, Shinichiro Watanabe has announced in this short clip below, that he has been working on a Blade Runner anime short, which is set to round off the group of short films.

But Watanabe isn’t the only exciting talent working on the project, popular music duo Flying Lotus are scoring the anime short. Titled ‘Black Out 2022’, it looks like the short will be based on the catastrophic event mentioned in the other two shorts and trailers. The phrases ‘pre-blackout and post-blackout’ have been thrown around in short clips as a major event in the history of Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049.
