Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel to enter production this year

Filming for the Crouching Tiger sequel is set to start in the fall of this year in New Zealand and China. Action Choreographer for the original, Yuen Woo-Ping, is set to return as the film’s director, with actors Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh also set to return.

Studio shoots were considered, but a recent change in New Zealand film taxes have proved very beneficial, allowing for a 20% rebate on all location based filming if more than NZ$15 Million is spent on production.

Filming was originally supposed to take place in the spring of 2013, but was pushed back. The reasons for which are unknown…
