Daisy Ridley Comments on Rogue One Rumor
One of the biggest mysteries that Star Wars: The Force Awakens left unanswered was the identity of Rey’s parents. A popular theory is that Rey’s mother is Jyn Erso, who will be played by Felicity Jones in Rogue One. Actress Daisy Ridley has debunked this rumor, however.
Speaking with MTV, Ridley said, “I’m not being funny you guys, but just because she’s white and got brown hair… it doesn’t mean she’s my mom.”
Ridley went on to say that she does know who Rey’s parents are, but she of course won’t spoil the surprise.
“I think the amazing thing about [Episode VII] is that Finn and Rey don’t come from anywhere, and they find a place,” she said. “So to me, it’s funny that people think it’s so important because I don’t really think it is.”
Another popular theory is that Luke Skywalker is Rey’s father. Speaking of which, Mark Hamill recently tweeted this hilarious photo of Rey training with Luke:
