Daniel Craig has been “persuaded to do one more Bond movie”

Daniel Craig has reportedly been “persuaded” to return as James Bond for “one more film”.

Craig had previously joked that he’d rather “slash his wrists” than play Bond again. But now according to Page Six, the franchise’s producer Barbara Broccoli has “just about persuaded Daniel Craig to do one more Bond movie” and is in talks with the British actor about a new script:

“Daniel’s talks with Barbara are going in the right direction. They have a script — screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert are writing and they’ll go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit,” a source told Page Six.

The report also claims that Broccoli is not a fan of one of the bookies’ favorites Tom Hiddleston, calling him “too smug” for Bond:

“Barbara Broccoli doesn’t like Tom Hiddleston, he’s a bit too smug and not tough enough to play James Bond.”

James Norton, Idris Elba, Aidan Turner and Tom Hardy have also been linked with the role, but it now looks likely that Craig will return as 007 for a final time.
