Daniel Radcliffe wanted for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie

Recently, it was a discovered that Warner Bros. had filed an official trademark for a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child feature film. And now the studio reportedly want Daniel Radcliffe to return to the title role.

Earlier this year, Radcliffe did reveal that he wouldn’t rule out a return to his iconic role of Harry Potter, if the script was right.

Radcliffe told the Radio Times:

“It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo [in Star Wars], and look what happened there.”

Although according to New York Daily News, Radcliffe has no intention of reprising the role “anytime soon,” which “could be until he hits 40.”

The news outlet also reports that the studio hopes to release the film as soon as 2020:

“Warner is secretly working on getting the movie rights and a screenplay settled, and of course in their minds only one man should be Harry.” a source said.

NY Daily News has also heard that Warner Bros. will create a storyline centered around Harry’s son, with the intention of turning it into an entire new film trilogy.
