Today comes the sad news that David Bowie has died from cancer at the age of 69. The multi-talented performer who had a profound effect on the music industry throughout the entirety of his illustrious music career was also an actor; appearing in films such as Labyrinth, The Man Who Fell to Earth and Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige, the latter in which he portrayed Nikola Tesla. He also appeared on many movie soundtracks, such as the title track for 1986’s When the Wind Blows and the soundtrack album for Labyrinth, which he co-wrote and composed with Trevor Jones.
His son, Duncan Jones, confirmed the news on his Twitter account:
