Marvel’s Deadpool has officially become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
According to Box Office Mojo, Deadpool has now taken $745m at the box office worldwide, which takes it past long-time record holder, The Matrix Reloaded‘s $742m.
The film had already broken the record for the biggest R-rated opening weekend and also set a record high for both President’s Day weekend and the month of February, overtaking Fifty Shades of Grey.
and is now the eighth biggest comic book adaptation in US box office takings.
Deadpool is now the eighth biggest comic book adaptation in US box office history. And so unsurprisingly, a sequel has already been confirmed.
