Dwayne Johnson reveals who he wants to play Shazam

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has revealed who he’d like to see play the role of legendary superhero Shazam. Johnson told We Got This Covered that he wants to face off against Armie Hammer in the DC movie.

Hammer starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Man from UNCLE.

“I’m going to throw one name out here, and I want to see how the fans are going to react to this. A guy who I met, and after I met him I was like ‘man that guy is such a cool guy.’

He is a lot bigger than I thought he would be, and when I walked away, I remember telling our producer … we both looked at each other and was like: ‘Possibly Shazam? And we’re like yes, all right.’ I’m not even going to tell you his name, I’m just going to say Lone Ranger.” he said.

He is of course referring to Hammer, who starred in 2013’s The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp.

The Shazam! film is set to be split into two movies, with one focusing on Johnson’s Black Adam and the other focusing on the former, although both characters will appear in both projects. Lights Out director David F. Sandberg is rumored to helm. Release dates are yet to be announced.
