Ed Skrein has left the upcoming Hellboy reboot due to controversy surrounding his casting as Major Ben Daimio. Skrein, who is best known for playing the villain in Deadpool and starring in Game of Thrones, shared a letter on Twitter, announcing his exit from the project, due to the whitewashing backlash of his casting. This was because the character is of mixed Asian heritage in the comics. See the tweet below:

With Skrein stepping aside, Hellboy will now have to recast Daimio. The reboot is expected to begin filming next month.
