Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop 4 gets new directors

Beverly Hills Cop IV looked to be in the balance after it was removed from Paramount’s release schedule last year. However, the film is now moving forward with the announcement of its new directors.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah—the Belgian writer-directors behind the Award–winning movie Black, will helm the 4th film in the Eddie Murphy franchise.

Deadline reports that producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Eddie Murphy were “charmed” when they found out “how important the original Beverly Hills Cop was to [the directors.].” Arbi and Fallah will bring “youthful energy” to proceedings.

Eddie Murphy certainly approves of the news.

The film also has its writers on board, as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, will pen the script.
