Evan Peters to return as Quicksilver

Evan Peters’ Quicksilver was a standout in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. He’ll go for another lap in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peters will be joining Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) for the upcoming sequel. Michael Fassbender is also on board to reprise his role as Magneto, Quicksilver’s father. Of course the film will largely revolve around Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, who starts to lose control of her powers as the Dark Phoenix takes over. Newcomers include Lamar Johnson and Jessica Chastain, who might be playing alien queen Lilandra.

The Dark Phoenix Saga was previously tackled in X-Men: The Last Stand, although fans generally felt that film failed to deliver. Since the franchise’s timeline hit the reset button, though, Fox has another chance to get it right with director Simon Kinberg behind the camera.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters on November 2, 2018.
