Ewan McGregor still up for rumoured Obi Wan spin-off film
The dust is slowly settling from last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration and fans are salivating about the future of the franchise, especially after we got our first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Soon attention will turn to the new Han Solo movie which is due next year and the future anthology films.
Lucasfilm and Disney are yet to announce what anthology film be released in 2020 but fans are hopeful that it will be the long-rumoured Obi-Wan Kenobi story. And to add to their desires, star Ewan McGregor has once again spoken again about returning to the role, saying he would do it in a heartbeat.
Speaking to EW, McGregor said:
“There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything,”
“But I’ve always said that I’d be happy to do it if they wanted to do it. It would be a good segue between the last episode of the prequels and the new episodes.
“I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released on December 17th; the untitled Han Solo movie is due on May 25th, 2018.
