Earlier today, it was revealed that Jared Leto had reportedly felt like he was “tricked” into taking on the role of the Joker in Suicide Squad. This has not gone down well with fans who have accused the actor of making ‘excuses’.
According to a Jared Leto Tumblr fansite report from Camp Mars, Leto spoke negatively of the film during a Q&A session, feeling “sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently.”
The report also states:
“He was very honest about the film this weekend; his disappointment in what he’s learned of the theatrical cut (he’s still not seen the film); thinking it would’ve been more artistic than what it became; feeling overwhelmed by the hate regarding the look and choices…”
The internet then responded to the report with some unforgiving tweets:
Jared Leto is upset because he was tricked into playing Joker in #SuicideSquad, and I'm upset because trailers tricked me into watching it.

Leto also spoke badly of Warner Bros. as he openly swore at them,“F*ck ’em” he says in the video below:

It’s fair to say Leto may regret ever taking on the part of the Joker, especially after the extreme lengths he went to with his preparation for the role, only to be panned by critics for his performance. In his defence though, a lot of Joker footage was cut from the final product. As he claimed there was enough footage to make a whole Joker movie, but the theatrical cut continues to divide opinion.
