J.K. Rowling is wasting no time finishing her Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy. The author/screenwriter has reportedly already written the sequel to this Harry Potter prequel, and has plans for the third installment as well.

Speaking with Reuters, director David Yates stated that “she’s written the second one, she’s got ideas for the third one.”

Yates, who directed five of the Harry Potter movies, says that he prefers working with Rowling’s original script as apposed to adapting her books to the big screen

“When we adapted the books, you would always have to leave out things – that you hated leaving out – because they didn’t quite work within the structure of the storytelling for the movie, or the movie would just be far too long. With this, it’s just pure Jo from the first page to the last page.”
