In addition to New York, the eighth film in the Fast and Furious franchise will be shooting in Akranes, Iceland.

Iceland Review revealed this news and Regína Ásvaldsdóttir, the town’s mayor, confirmed it. “Surely, this is an extensive project and will affect retail and service in town,” Ásvaldsdóttir said.

Hitting theaters on April 14, 2017, Fast 8 will be directed by F. Gary Gray of Straight Outta Compton and act as the beginning of a new trilogy. A few Fast and Furious spin-offs are also in the works.
