Fast & Furious director to helm Space Jam 2

Space Jam 2 has found its director with Justin Lin close to signing up to take on the project. Lin is best known for helming four entries in the Fast and the Furious franchise as well as the upcoming Star Trek Beyond.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lin is in advanced negotiations to direct the Space Jam sequel which will see Cleveland Cavaliers’ Lebron James succeed Michael Jordan who starred in the original film.

Much like the 1996 original, Space Jam 2 will feature an NBA star interacting with Looney Tunes characters. Warner Bros. are set to release the follow-up film with Andrew Dodge on script-writing duties.
