First look at Star Wars: Rogue One’s U-Wing Ship

A brand-new ship will feature in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and we have our first look at the spacecraft.

The image shows the new ship called the U-Wing and it was revealed during the latest episode of The Star Wars Show. Check out the screenshot below, followed by the video (you can see the U-Wing around 1:30)

The U-Wing was in fact first shown as concept art back at the Star Wars Celebration 2015 in Anaheim.

Lucasfilm executive Matt Martin says that “the U-Wing is a bit different than the A, X and Y-Wing fighters, as it serves as both a troop transport and gunship. Although, it can also function as aerial support by locking its s-foils into an alternate position.”

And we can see the U-Wing in high-flying action when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16th.
