Don’t except to see the Assassin’s Creed movie promoted at San Diego Comic-Con this July. 20th Century Fox has decided to skip the event due to piracy concerns. Last year, footage from X-Men: Apocalypse was leaked online after being shown at Comic-Con. Fox wants to prevent this from happening again.

A close source told TheWrap, “The Studio feels it cannot prevent the piracy of custom trailers and exclusive footage routinely screened for fans in attendance.”

“The studio will be accounted for in smaller events, like their DreamWorks Animation collaboration Trolls, a second individual close to the studio told TheWrap, who added that footage they would show would be unfinished and far from release.”

TheWrap also indicated that Disney could be pulling out of Comic-Con too, although that’s yet to be confirmed.
