Gambit loses another director

Doug Liman, best known for helming Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity, has reportedly left directing duties for Marvel’s upcoming X-Men spin-off Gambit.

Liman has left the project for supernatural superhero film Dark Universe and DC’s Justice League Dark. He’s the second director to leave the doomed Gambit as Rupert Wyatt made his exit last year, due to a schedule clash.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that although Gambit has lost its director, Channing Tatum is still attached to star. And so the search now begins for a third director.

20th Century Fox are hoping they can still start shooting in January next year. But at this rate, it will be more like January 2030!
