Game of Thrones announce the directors for the final season

With Game of Thrones, unfortunately, coming to an end next year, with it’s 8th and final season, the list of directors to work on the season is a big deal.

The list is as follows; David Nutter, Miguel Sapochnik, David Benioff and D.B Weiss.

That’s right, it’s believed the writers/showrunners Benioff and Weiss will be directing the finale of the series, which leaves the other six episodes to Sapochnick and Nutter, who arguably gave us the best episodes of Game of Thrones in the past.

Sapochnik is the most exciting of these names as he is responsible for ‘Battle of the Bastards’ – well known to be one of the best hours of television ever created. Sapochnik also directed some of the other series most popular episodes, Winds of Winter, Hardhome and The Gift. Any other contenders for ‘best episodes’ were probably directed by Nutter, his record in the series includes the red wedding scene in the episode Rains of Castemere and season 5 finale Mother’s Mercy.

Even though this is the final episode of Game of Thrones, HBO has not been shy in mentioning they are working on multiple series set in Westeros, one being a prequel and another a spin-off. It’s said five, yes, five other series are in development.
