Game of Thrones’ Michelle MacLaren in talks for Wonder Woman

Following reports that DC wanted a female director to make Wonder Woman, their 2017 movie that stars Gal Gadot as the titular superheroine, it’s been rumoured that talks are happening with Michelle MacLaren. While she has yet to make a feature, MacLaren is a much-respected director on some big TV shows; she’s been behind the camera on Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, some of the most critically lauded series of recent years. Now that she’s negotiating with DC to make Wonder Woman, we’re interested in what expertise she’ll bring with her from her rich background in television.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, with both Warner Bros. – the studio behind DCs’ movies – and MacLaren herself yet to announce anything. There was some amount of controversy among fans when Gal Gadot was first cast as Diana Prince, AKA Wonder Woman – but we imagine that the addition of MacLaren, which will hopefully be confirmed soon, will help balance out expectations.
