Yesterday, we reported on the first reactions to Ridley Scott’s Alien sequel from the screening in Korea and now we have our first mini-reviews from the movie’s premiere in London last night.
With the previous film in the franchise, Prometheus, receiving mixed reviews amongst critics, it’ll be encouraging to hear that the first reactions to Alien: Covenant are extremely positive. It’s been labelled as “intense”, “mysterious” and “epic” with “classic touches”. See the full reactions from Twitter below:
#AlienCovenant is an intense, strange and nightmarish continuation of the franchise. A great companion to Prometheus & the Alien mythos.

#AlienCovenant flew by. It will please fans. Lots of classic touches, dark, gruesome at times, of course! Full review on Sunday.

So some great early feedback, although a couple were more cautious with their opinions, calling “the last act messy” and that it won’t appeal to everyone:
I don’t think everyone will love Alien: Covenant. Some will probably hate it. It’s a complex film and one you’ll be talking about after.

First impressions. More satisfying than Prometheus. Last act little messy re: the Aliens. Loved the cast and characters. #AlienCovenant

We can make our own minds up when Alien: Covenant hits theaters on 19th May.
