Gold Darth Vader mask on sale for $1.4 million

A gold Darth Vader mask is up for auction in Japan for a whopping $1.4 million. The mask is made of solid gold and was commissioned by jewellers Ginza Tanaka in Tokyo to mark the Star Wars 40th anniversary.

The 24 karat gold mask weighs just over 33 pounds, see it in full glory below:

It’s on sale for 154 million yen (£1.1m/$1.4 m) from the store in Tokyo. If that’s too much out of your price range though, they’re also selling solid gold coins, featuring the likes of Yoda and Luke Skywalker, ranging from $1,000 to $11,000.

A spokesperson from Ginza Tanaka said they “created this golden mask both because “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is set to premier in December, and because the company simply wanted to create the saga’s “iconic character, ‘Darth Vader,’ with gold.”
