Gravity Screenwriter to Direct Futuristic Zorro Reboot

Jonás Cuarón is set to direct a Zorro reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This won’t be an traditional version of the iconic hero, however. Cuaron’s film will jump ahead to the future and entitled Z.

Jonás Cuarón is the son of Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón. He previously co-wrote the screenplay for Gravity along with his father and directed a companion short to sci-fi blockbuster, Aningaaq.

A post-apocalyptic update of Zorro has been in the works for awhile. With Cuarón now on board, he’ll be bringing his own vision to the project. Suggestion: Give Zorro a lightsaber!
