Independence Day director Roland Emmerich is renting out his bizarre London home
Legendary director Roland Emmerich has brought Hollywood to Knightsbridge with his unique London home, and it can now be yours for a whopping £8,000 per week.
The director of blockbuster hits Independence Day, Godzilla and Stargate, is offering his quite bizarre-looking home for short-let through Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward.
The five bedroom, five bathroom property will cost you £34,666 per calendar month. That may seem an awful lot but maybe not when you consider the property’s extraordinary decor. Each room is described as a “movie set with bespoke murals, ornaments and soft furnishings sitting alongside unique artwork and furniture.” The house also includes artwork of dictator Saddam Hussein and a waxwork of Pope Jean-Paul II, as you do.
Daniel Bickerdike, Lettings Manager at KFH South Kensington, spoke of the property’s “fascinating” features:
“The opportunity to live in such a unique home doesn’t come around very often. From the murals and ornaments inspired by figures from world history to Pope Jean Paul II sitting in the under-stairs cupboard, residents will be equally challenged, fascinated and entertained by the décor throughout this property.”
