J.J. Abrams broke his back on Star Wars set

It has come to light that J.J. Abrams broke his back during the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Speaking on the The Daily Show, Abrams told host Jon Stewart of how he had broken his back when helping to lift the hydraulic door which had closed on and broken Harrison Ford’s leg. The director said he had to wear a back brace, concealed under his clothes, following the accident and marvelled at how quickly Ford was able to overcome his injury in contrast to his own recovery. He gushed, “The guy is like a real life superhero” of the actor.
