It’s been several years since Avatar shattered box office records and we still haven’t seen one sequel. Regardless, director James Cameron has previously stated that he’ll be making three sequels to his enormous blockbuster. Why stop at three when you can have four, though?

According to The Verge, Cameron announced at CinemaCon that he’ll be making an additional follow-up to Avatar. The first sequel is set to come out in 2018. The next three films will hit theaters in 2020, 2022, and 2023.

“It’s going to be a true epic saga that’s told in this rich and complex world,” said Cameron.

Whether you were a fan of the original Avatar or not, it’s clear that the franchise is just getting started.
