James Franco announces next project after The Disaster Artist

James Franco is currently generating award buzz for directing and starring in The Disaster Artist. The actor/filmmaker plans to follow up that critical darling with a biopic about American poet, author, and cartoonist Shel Silverstein.

According to Deadline, Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair will base their screenplay on Lisa Rogak’s book, A Boy Named Shel. Silverstein is perhaps best known for writing and illustrating The Giving Tree. If you spent a lot of time in libraries as a kid, you also probably came across these titles:
