James Wan to direct The Conjuring 2
It seems that once he’s finished smashing cars together with Fast & Furious 7, James Wan – the horror prodigy behind frightening franchises such as Saw and Insidious – will return to the genre once more to direct The Conjuring 2. The Conjuring was one of last year’s most critically acclaimed scary movies, and to see a sequel (currently subtitled The Enfield Poltergeist) helmed by the same director is exciting news – even if the film has been pushed back to 2016, from its original October 23 release date next year. This is most likely to accommodate Wan’s return, who we expect is scheduled to the eyeballs for Fast & Furious 7‘s press tour, a film which itself was delayed due to the tragic passing of one of its stars, Paul Walker. It’s looking like Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will return as supernatural investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren respectively.
