Jared Leto Gives Suicide Squad Cast More Gifts

To get into character as the Joker, Jared Leto gave his fellow Suicide Squad cast members several horrific gifts, including a dead pig. It turned out the Oscar-winning actor didn’t stop there. He also gave them used condoms and anal beads.

Talking with E! Online, Leto said that “I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there. The Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.”

Leto also notably sent Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Killer Croc, a few “sticky Playboy magazines.”

Akinnuoye-Agbaje said that Leto’s gifts brought the cast together and “it became us against him.”

Will Smith, who plays Deadshot in Suicide Squad, additionally commented on Leto’s gifts.

“He went full Joker,” Smith said. “He really set the tone. He wasn’t playing with it. He was dead serious as an actor. He was going in and he was 100 percent going into this character.”

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
