Jared Leto has already made his superhero debut as the Joker in Suicide Squad, and now he’s in talks to take on the role of another comic cook creation. According to Deadline, Leto is in talks to play the lead in Sony’s Bloodshot.
The film is set to be part of a new shared universe based on Valiant Comics’ superheroes. Leto will play Angelo Mortalli, a mobster who is transformed into an unstoppable killing machine.
Bloodshot is a former soldier with powers of regeneration, technomancy and meta-morphing made possible through nanites injected into his blood. After escaping from his masters at Project Rising Spirit, Bloodshot seeks to discover his true identity and other purpose besides killing.
Bloodshot follows Harbinger as the second of a five-film deal between Valiant and Sony. Release date and director are yet to be announced.
