Jay Z signs TV and Film deal with Weinstein
The Weinstein Company has announced that Jay Z has signed a two-year deal to produce TV and film projects with the studio.
Shawn “Jay Z” Carter has signed a contract with Weinstein that will have first-look options to produce both scripted and unscripted television projects and film projects.
“I’m excited to tell stories from real life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight,” Jay Z said in a statement.
“I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.” he added.
Jay Z does have recent film involvement as he stacked up producer credits on 2014’s Annie remake, Chris Rock’s Top Five and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
Projects in the deal are already underway, and will be announced over the coming weeks.
