William Shatner might not appear in Star Trek Beyond, but at least the founder of Amazon will make a cameo… wait what?
Yep, you heard right. Jeff Bezos will be in the latest Star Trek film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Justin Lin confirmed that Bezos is going to pop up in the movie as an alien. On IMDB, he’s credited as a Starfleet Official. It should also be noted that Bezos’ only other acting credit is a Security Guard from a 2004 short called Tooth Fairy.
This might sound like strange news, but it’s certainly not the first time a celebrity has made a totally random cameo in a sci-fi blockbuster. For example, Daniel Craig appeared as a stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Prince Harry and Prince William also dropped by the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Look out for Bezos when Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22, 2016.
