Jennifer Lawrence may be starring in Darren Aronofsky’s next film

Hollywood heavyweight Jennifer Lawrence could be the star of Darren Aronofsky’s next film. According to Variety, the visionary filmmaker has decided on an untitled indie project for his next release.

An independent film by Aronofsky, starring the most famous actress in the world, has a lot of potential for both parties. After embodying sensational roles like Katness Everdeen and Mystique, Lawrence will be positioned to exercise her renowned acting chops with a more focused and personal project.

After all, The Wrestler director single-handedly resurrected Mickey Rourke’s career with a heart-breaking character study, one obviously tailor-made for the actor. Perhaps Aronofsky can direct Lawrence towards her second Academy Award. She won a best lead actress statue for David O’ Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook — a smaller, indie-esque picture in its own right.

Lawrence’s X-Men: Apocalypse and Mockingjay – Part 2 duties are wrapped up, so she’ll have plenty of time for new opportunities next year. Lets hope the stars align for these two.
