Johnny Depp has signed up for the sequel to the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts.
According to Deadline, Depp will start his journey into the wizarding world with a cameo in the first film before playing a bigger part in the follow-up, however his role is yet to be revealed.
Recently, JK Rowling confirmed that there will be as many as five films in the Fantastic Beasts series, although it’s unclear as to how many Depp’s character will appear in.
Depp’s other upcoming projects include Murder on the Orient Express, Labyrinth, The Invisible Man and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 is set to start production early next year with David Yates again at the helm and Eddie Redmayne returning as the lead.
And we can see Depp make his Potterverse debut when Fantastic Beasts hits theaters on November 18. Check out the trailer below:
