Jon Bernthal speaks about playing Punisher in Daredevil Season 2

Fans are still reeling from the announcement that The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal will be playing The Punisher, one of Marvel’s most dastardly anti-heroes, in the upcoming second season of Daredevil. Now, the actor has revealed a few initial thoughts on bagging the role when speaking with ABC News:

‘Oh man, it’s just a huge honour to play the part and that’s all I can say about that… I’m very thrilled and we haven’t started yet, but I’m very much looking forward to it.’

It’s great to hear Bernthal so excited for the role, even considering it an ‘honour’ to be playing Frank Castle, AKA Punisher in Daredevil. Not only is it huge news for Bernthal, but for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, too; considering the character’s popularity, he could even pop up in one of the two Avengers: Infinity War films. Bernthal will be appearing alongside Charlie Cox, who’ll be reprising his role as the eponymous blind vigilante.
