Is Joss Whedon the reason why Justice League is set to be the shortest DCEU film?

We know, we know. We’ve been covering a lot of Justice League news lately but it’s right around the corner. So close we can see Wayne building from here. It’s set to be one of the biggest releases of the year, with production troubles and more, Justice League is now reportedly the shortest DCU film to date.

Clocking in at just 2 hours and 1 minute. That makes Justice League 20 minutes shorter than Man of Steel and 30 minutes shorter than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It almost feels as if superhero films are getting shorter and shorter, with Thor: Ragnarok also being the shortest of the trilogy at only 90 minutes. That’s a mere hour and a half.

It’s surprising, considering a number of reshoots and rewrites by Joss Whedon and the fact Zack Snyder’s movies aren’t known for their concise storytelling. it begs the question, just how much of Justice League has been reconfigured to fit this new Joss Whedon vision? There have been rumours that at least a significant amount has – from looking at the last trailer compared to the first, it seems like an entirely different movie.

No can know for sure, even when the movie comes out, we still, won’t know what was Snyder’s and what was Whedon’s. Let’s just all pray the movie is at least good.

Justice League comes to cinemas November, 17th.
