Justice League’s early cut was “unwatchable”

Warner Bros.’ upcoming Justice League movie is currently undergoing reshoots, this is typical for a big-budgeted production, so nothing to be worried about, or is there? As according to a new report, these are no ordinary reshoots.

Joss Whedon has been directing the reshoots, after Zack Snyder left the project due to a family tragedy. They are reportedly costing around $25 million and have been causing all sorts of problems. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman has been ordered to keep the mustache he’s been growing for Mission: Impossible 6, while production is on-going for the sixth film of the franchise. This puts Warner Bros. in a spot of bother as they must now digitally remove Superman’s facial hair.

Meanwhile it was revealed last week that the tone of Ray Fisher’s Cyborg was “adjusted” in the reshoots as producers felt the film was “too dark” and needed to “lighten up” And now to make matters worse, according to Batman-On-Film, the reshoots are not “standard pick-ups” they are in fact “substantial changes” the studio ordered, after an early cut of the film was deemed “unwatchable’:

“These reshoots – which are still taking place – are not standard pick-ups/additional photography. Why? Apparently, an early cut of the film was deemed “unwatchable.” Thus, substantial changes to the film were ordered.” The site states.

Batman actor Ben Affleck at least has some positive words to say about the project, telling Entertainment Weekly that he “loved working” with both directors:

“[It’s] an interesting product of two directors, both with kind of unique visions, both with really strong takes. I’ve never had that experience before making a movie. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we’ve done with Joss,” he said.

Justice League arrives on November 17. See its latest trailer below in the meantime:
