Alien: Covenant has had its lead actress announced as Deadline reports that Katherine Waterston has been cast to play “Daniels” in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi sequel.
Waterston has had a busy couple of years with high-profile turns in Paul Anderson’s Inherent Vice and Danny Boyle’s recent Steve Jobs biopic.
The film will follow the crew of a colony ship that discovers an Edenic world whose only inhabitant is David, the android survivor of the previous film played by Michael Fassbender.
Alien: Covenant is set for an October 2017 release.
