Kevin Spacey will star in Nine Lives as a man who turns into a cat

Here’s some high-concept casting news for you: Kevin Spacey, the stern face behind such screen monstrosities as Francis Underwood (House of Cards) and John Doe (Se7en) will be playing a man who turns into a cat. Yes, you heard that right: Nine Lives, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), will concern the offbeat adventures of a businessman who gets trapped in the body of a house cat. According to The Wrap, Sonnenfeld describes Nine Lives as ‘funny, emotional, commercial comedy’, so expect more of a broadly played movie as opposed to an avant-garde indie. This won’t be Spacey’s first foray into silly comedy, of course; 2011’s Horrible Bosses proved his chops when it comes to gags, and was possibly the best part of that movie – Nine Lives should be no different.
