Universal Pictures have announced their first new cast member for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker. As Kim Basinger, best known for L.A. Confidential and 8 Mile, is set to star.
Variety reports that Basinger will play Elena Lincoln, also known as Mrs. Robinson, a key character from the books who played a pivotal role in Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) teenage years.
Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson will reprise their roles in the sequel films with Fifty Shades Darker expected to hit theaters February 10, 2017, and the third film, Fifty Shades Freed, set to follow on February 9, 2018.
