Mathew Vaughn previously saved the X-Men franchise with 2011’s First Class. Could he do the same for Fantastic Four?

Vaughn acted as a producer on the critically panned Fant4stic. In an interview with CinemaBlend, the director discussed how he wants to make the next Fantastic Four reboot as an apology.

“The other one I’ve felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them,” Vaughn stated.

“It’s brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake.”

Vaughn most recently directed Kingsman: The Secret Service and its 2017 followup, which hits theaters this weekend.
