Kristen Stewart slates The Huntsman: Winter’s War
In 2012, Kristen Stewart starred in Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman but reportedly wasn’t asked back for the sequel, after rumour had it, that she was caught having an affair with director Rupert Sanders. However, Stewart now claims that she chose not to appear in the film and has even hit out at the studio and the scripts.
Speaking to Variety, she said:
It wasn’t a situation where I got kicked off a movie because I got in trouble. We had been in talks months after that about making something work, and it never came together.
I read a few scripts. None of them were good. None of them were greenlight-able. And I had a meeting with Universal about the places where the story could go.
She even had a little jokey dig at Chris Hemsworth in the process:
Maybe Chris was more into it. I actually don’t f**king know.
It seems Stewart made the right decision avoiding The Huntsman: Winter’s War, after it received generally poor reviews and although it made $40 million in its opening domestic weekend, that’s still around $15million less than the original made on its debut.
And Stewart even had something to say about that, as she revealed that the studio did ask her to appear as Snow White in a cameo role but she told them, “I might just leave that be.” And now she now knows that she made the right choice: “So now I’m like … ‘Thank God.’”
You can next see Kirsten Stewart in Woody Allen’s latest picture Cafe Society which hits screens on July 29.
