Kung Fu Panda 3 claws to the top of the box office
DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3 went straight to the top of the North American box office in its opening weekend.
The animated comedy took an estimated $41 million which falls a few million short of its predecessor, Kung Fu Panda 2, which opened with $47.7 million domestically, while the 2008 original Kung Fu Panda opened with $60.2 million.
Last week’s leader The Revenant slipped to second place just ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Here are the Top 10 weekend box office estimates via Rentrak:
