Lando Calrissian to appear in standalone Han Solo movie; reportedly set to star non-white female lead
A young Lando Calrissian will make an appearance in the upcoming Han Solo movie, which will star Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo himself. Lando, of course, famously loses the Millennium Falcon to Solo in a card game. The news comes by way of The Wrap, with Birth.Movies.Death. suggesting that Donald Glover is currently the first choice to take on the role of Young Lando. With Jeff Sneider adding, via the following Tweet, that the filmmakers search for a female lead is down to four non-white girls:
It will be interesting to discover who that female lead will be and which other characters from Han Solo’s complicated past are going to crop up in the movie. We’ll keep you posted on anything we hear.
