Liam Hemsworth offered the lead role in Independence Day sequel

Liam Hemsworth hasn’t had quite as much luck as his brother, Chris; while the older Hemsworth is off saving the universe as Marvel’s Thor, Liam has been kept to mainly smaller roles in The Hunger Games and The Expendables. But now we’ve learned that he’s been offered the lead role in ID Forever – the title of the Independence Day sequel.  While that title may change, it seems that Hemsworth will fill the shoes of Will Smith in the 1996 original as he has passed on the project. Just like in the real world, the film is set 20 years after the first movie, with humanity vastly advanced thanks to leftover alien technology. We’re sure that the younger Hemsworth has what it takes to take up the mantle of Action Hero in ID Forever, just like his older sibling; and maybe that title will grow on us too.
